Men’s grooming is often a neglected art. While under intensive guidance you will work on a live model and view demos by our Kaizen stylists. This course will cover scissor, razor and clipper techniques.

Form, Function, Flow

• Strengthen your knowledge of the core principles behind haircutting in this intensive seminar.
• Instruction will focus on how to cut hair – and more importantly – the why behind it. This will include in-depth exploration of the key principles of form, function and flow; form being technique, function being the purpose of the technique and flow being the marriage of the two.

Photoshoot Class

• Communicate your talent through photos. This workshop allows an intimate opportunity for 5 stylists to work side by side with our award-winning team to create images for editorial, commercial, or competitive use.
• Every image starts with inspiration. Learn with the Kaizen team to bring your inspiration to fruition. The team will assist you beginning with developing your mood board. From there, you will create your inspiration on live professional models beginning with hair, makeup and finally clothing design and photography.
• This interactive, “hands-in” format allows you to create an individual concept from start to finish and includes retouched images for your personal portfolio.

Razor Cutting

• Understand the fundamentals of using a razor (both straight and guarded blade).
• During this training, stylists will leave with the confidence to use a razor for creating space, movement and texture for all of their clients’ needs.

Our 3-day intensive styling class will offer the opportunity to see and execute styling for finishes from salon guests, to red carpet looks and editorial styling.

• This class lets the student decide what they will learn. Each attendee will choose 4 haircuts during the 2 days they wish to be guided through.
